What are the rules for granting free bus tickets to Low-Income Youth?
Service for low-income youth:
Beneficiary: individuals aged between 15 and 29 years who belong to a family with a monthly income of up to two minimum wages, registered in the National Register for Social Programs.
Benefits:
- 2 seats free of charge, 100% discount
- 2 seats at 50% discount
- The benefit does not include terminal usage fees, tolls, and food expenses.
Eligibility:
- Interstate routes
- Standard class
- No assigned seats
Required documents for provision:
- Document proving the status of Low-Income Youth, according to DECREE NO. 8,537, OF 5th OCTOBER 2015
- Official ID with photo
Are there any student benefits?
No.
Under the current legislation, only elderly people, people with disabilities, and low-income youth are entitled to free transport.
Why do seniors have difficulty obtaining a 100% discount benefit?
The 100% discount benefit is available only in the standard class and is limited to 2 seats per carriage.
Travel tickets are available for sale 45 days in advance, and the demand for this benefit far exceeds supply. Other seats can be purchased at a 50% discount.
What are the rules for granting free travel for persons with disabilities?
PERSON WITH DISABILITY OR REDUCED MOBILITYSeats 02 and 04 are adapted for use by persons with disabilities, in accordance with current legislation. They are reserved and can only be sold up to a maximum of 2 hours and 59 minutes before the departure time.
Interstate Line - Benefit available only in the standard class
To request a travel ticket, the person must present an official identification document and a card issued by the Department of Transport. (Always check the expiry date).
Persons with disabilities who are entitled to the benefit of an accompanying person will only be provided this if the wording "NEED FOR ACCOMPANIST" is mentioned on the card.
Intermunicipal Line in the State of Ceará
We offer 2 seats in standard service upon presentation of an intermunicipal free pass card issued by the State Department of Traffic (DETRAN/CE) and an identification document.
Intermunicipal Line in the State of Bahia
We offer 2 seats in standard service upon presentation of an intermunicipal free pass card when the beneficiary is registered with the SJDHDS – Department of Justice, Human Rights and Social Development, and an identification document.
Persons with disabilities who are entitled to the benefit of an accompanying person will only be provided this if the wording "Right to Accompanist" is mentioned on the card.
Intermunicipal Line in the State of Minas Gerais - Only two seats are reserved for elderly or disabled persons, priority given to those who book first in accordance with resolution 46.434
We offer 2 seats in standard service upon presentation of a medical report and income statement or SINDPASSE card, along with an identification document.
Note:
Characterisation of Reservation: The beneficiary of the free pass cannot reserve more than one time slot for the same day and destination, or for times and days when the journey seems impractical, which would imply holding seat reservations to the detriment of other beneficiaries. The accompanying person cannot travel without the presence of the disabled individual.
What are the rules for granting free travel for seniors?
Availability on STANDARD busesINTERSTATE and INTERNATIONAL routes
- Individuals aged 60 and over, with an income equal to or less than twice the minimum wage, are entitled to a 100% discount on two seats, which must be requested at least 3 hours before the scheduled departure time. Other seats with a 50% discount can be booked at any time beforehand.
- Seniors must arrive for boarding 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time, or they risk losing the benefit. At the time of booking, seniors need to present official ID and proof of income, preferably the senior citizen card provided by municipal councils.
- Seniors receiving a 50% discount must cover the costs of boarding and toll fees.
INTERMUNICIPAL routes MG:
- Individuals aged 65 and over, with an income equal to or less than twice the minimum wage, are entitled to free travel.
- Beneficiaries should request a ticket for each journey at least 12 hours ahead of the scheduled departure from the line's starting point and may request a return ticket.
- From 48 hours before until 30 minutes before travel, beneficiaries must confirm their reservation at the ticket counter; otherwise, the reservation will be cancelled.
- Seniors must present official ID and proof of income, preferably the senior citizen card provided by municipal councils, at the time of booking.
